Parking Attendant - $15.00 per hour, 3 hours per day, 5 days per week, 177 days/year. Must be at least 18 years of age to apply. There are no benefits with this position. Placement on the salary schedule will be reviewed by supervisor and finalized through the Human Resource and Payroll Departments. Candidates already employed with Nebo School District, applying for a new position with a lane increase, may decrease in overall steps in the new position if offered, accepted, and not in the same job category.
Purpose Statement
The job of Parking Attendant - High School is done for the purpose/s of providing safety, supervision and access to parking on campus.
This job reports to Assistant Principal - High School
Experience Job related experience is not required.
Continuing Educ. / Training Required to work some evenings and weekends.

Essential Functions
- Collaborates with the school administration and the resource officer to properly resolve accidents, theft and damage occurring in school parking lots for the purpose of creating and maintaining safe and secure parking appropriate for students, teachers and patrons.
- Compiles parking lot data for the purpose of tracking challenges associated with parking on school grounds.
- Counsels with school administration and security personnel for the purpose of regarding what signage and/or coning is to be created and maintained around parking entrances for various activities before, during and after school hours
- Ensures that only authorized vehicles are parked on school property for the purpose of encouraging a safe and orderly parking facility.
- Establishes procedures for making corrections needed with legitimate school visitors who were inadvertently ticketed for the purpose of creating a welcoming, constructive relationship between school personnel and outside patrons.
- Installs approved signage and coning around parking entrances for the purpose of informing patrons of appropriate places to park during school and extracurricular hours.
- Monitors school parking areas for the purpose of preventing theft and/or vehicle damage to the extent possible.
- Provide allocated and regulated parking space for students, staff and visitors during the day, and for extracurricular patrons during out of school hours for the purpose of nurturing safe and orderly campus parking.
- Tickets vehicle owners for parking violations for the purpose of controlling the parking on the high school campus.
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications
- SKILLS are required to perform single tasks using existing skills. - KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math; read and follow instructions; and understand written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: codes/laws/rules/regulations/policies; knowledge of community resources; school safety and security practices.
- ABILITY is required to schedule activities; collate data; and use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing specific, defined processes; and operate equipment using defined methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals; work with specific, job-related data; and utilize specific, job-related equipment. Some problem solving may be required to identify issues and select action plans. Problem solving with data requires following prescribed guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited. Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: accuracy and attention to detail; dealing with frequent interruptions; diffuse argumentative behavior; working as part of a team.

Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and some fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 20% sitting, 60% walking, 20% standing. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and in a clean atmosphere.
