We are currently accepting applications to join us as a CNA In-Training in our next program session. Dates and time of the next session are to-be-determined.
Classes and work location are both in-person in Malone, New York.
The class session is 5-6 weeks long. Participants learn the skills necessary to become and CNA and prepare to take their test for certification. Class dates and times to be determined. Alice Hyde Medical Center pays for the class tuition in agreement that participants will remain employed as CNA at Alice Hyde Medical Center for one year.
Participants in the program are hired as employees of Alice Hyde Medical Center at The Alice Center. They are paid for their class time as well as time worked as an CNA In-Training. Once participants have successfully completed the class and obtained their New York State Nurse Aide Certification, they can apply for an open position with The Alice Center.
What is an CNA?
CNA stands for Certified Nurse Aide. CNAs are important and valued members of our patient and resident care team. They work closely with residents and patients collaboratively under the direction of a LPN or RN delivering care, assisting with activities of daily living, and communicating with the team about resident changes and needs. Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to): taking vital signs, responding to call lights, Electronic Medical Record documentation, personal care, including bathing, mouth care, toileting and skin care, observing changes to resident and patient health and promoting healthy functioning of residents both physically and emotionally.
Certified Nurse Aide Job Summary
As a Certified Nurse Aide you'll provide assistance to residents with assisted daily living (ADL) tasks. You will be tasked with carrying out all assignments given by the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in a safe appropriate and timely manner within the guidelines of the AHMC nursing care requirements.
You will have the ability to promote the use of resident’s assets, helping to limit the effects of any disabilities. Teamwork among co-workers and accountability for all resident care given during the shift are key assets. CNA's must possess the ability to communicate with and provide care to adult and geriatric residents.
Education
CNA's at The Alice Center must have obtained (or be working to obtain) their High School diploma or equivalent.
