Job Summary
Responsible as subject matter expert for warehouse SOPs, monitoring inventory transactions, correcting and reporting inventory discrepancies, and reporting inventory accuracy levels. Lead root cause analysis and process mapping/improvement events, new item setups and implements slotting changes. Trains team members on WMS/LMS systems, proactively assesses performance through quantitative performance analysis and recommends process improvements. Act as liaison between peers and site management.
Essential Job Duties
  • Provides inventory management analysis and recommendations as it relates to new item integration, new item validation and materials, verify new item setups and accuracy of data against item master.
  • Works with Inventory, Management, and Cost Accounting teams on recommended changes to item master.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert and team trainer in WMS/LMS systems. Train and assist team members in the concepts of inventory control. Serves as a technical resource to others in resolving complex inventory problems, and review the work of site associates.
  • Recommends systems and process analysis with coordination of cross-functional departments to implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Acts in a leadership role to facilitate groups in process mapping/improvement projects to address process opportunities.
  • Executes storage slotting for existing and new inventory items.
  • Audits warehouse/ production SOPs related to WMS/LMS.
  • Analyzes published reports to communicate inventory accuracy to site, including current gaps and opportunities for improvement to include WMS/LMS, service levels, damages, aged inventory and space utilization.
  • Facilitates inventory accuracy in accordance with financial and regulatory guidance by monitoring and enforcing SOPs.
  • Performs daily cycle counts according to schedule and in accordance with prescribed directives.

No supervisory responsibility. Performs work with moderate autonomy and supervision; occasionally has work checked.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Research and analyze complex inventory problems, identify root cause, and drive institutional corrections to prevent recurring issues.
  • Ability to understand and follow appropriate handling, storage, and safety requirements of stored products.
  • Effective communication skills required (this role requires communicating with many different team members and departments)
  • Strong proven mathematical aptitude
  • Ability to foster strong working relationships with peers, work teams and site leadership.
  • Ability to type and enter data via personal computers
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Maintaining organized and accurate records of inventory data and information.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 3 years of warehousing experience with WMS/LMS systems (JDA/Red Prairie preferred); proficiency in using Microsoft Office Excel required.
Associate’s Degree in Business or related field with experience in finance/accounting preferred and familiarity with ERP systems preferred.

Physical Demands
Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time (with frequent interruptions), walk, stoop, reach, bend at the waist, grasp, on a regular basis; and occasionally move or lift up to 50 pounds and climb steps and/or ladders . Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs. Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements of typical office work. Talking, hearing, and seeing are mandatory elements of completing assigned tasks. Must be able to drive a vehicle as well as use office equipment such as a copier, fax, stapler, telephone, computer, and calculator.
Work Environment
May be exposed to extreme heat and/or cold depending upon the weather conditions when working on the docks or driving a vehicle.
Travel Required
Travel required <5% of the time. May occasionally travel to other facilities to help with system conversions and/or perform trainings.

Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between
$43,000.00 - $65,200.00
Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
