Summary of Job Duties:
Builds external relationship between the 911 Communications Center and community-based organizations, including colleges, vocational centers, local school systems, employment agencies, and public safety/emergency based organizations to educate them concerning the Hamilton County 911 Operations Center, with short and long terms goals to build employment leads for Communications Officer (911 Operator). Makes presentations to groups regarding the 911 Communications Center. Obtains and evaluates recruitment plans or strategies of other 911 communications centers,
particularly those with adequate staff, to determine the feasibility of importing successful recruitment strategies to the Hamilton County 9-1-1 Center.
  • Plans, organizes, and implements community outreach programs, including seminars, presentations,
    and events. Attends and participates in job fairs, community activities, and other public and
    departmental recruitment-related events. Schedules, participates in, and develops educational
    resources and tools for special events. Travels to various work locations on a regular basis.
  • Under leadership of Operations Manager, serves as the point person for 911 Operator applicants;
    issues appropriate tests, conducts and schedules interviews. Maintains the Applicant Tracking System
    with status of candidates through interview stages. Coordinates with the HR Department for purposes
    of extending job offers, conducting background checks and onboarding candidates. Partners with
    Communications Center training team to develop onboarding cycle.
  • Partners with Office of Media and Engagement to prepare print, video, social media and other forms of
    communication to advertise employment as a 911 Operator.
  • Assist with public records requests from outside the department. Documents and tracks all dates relevant
    to public records requests; corresponds with parties requesting public records. Collaborates with
    department personnel to ascertain the volume and nature of responsive records; identifies confidential,
    exempt and sensitive information in responsive records; and performs and coordinates redaction of
    confidential, exempt, and sensitive information. Manages retention and distribution of digital evidence
    items in addition to completing the review and redaction for public record requests of all audio/video files.
    Remains current on laws, rules and policy potentially impacting public records.
  • Completes other administrative duties, and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field
  • experience teaching and/or program development
  • or equivalent combinations of education and experience
  • Valid driver's license issued by the state of residency
