Job Description/Summary
The Access Coordinator is the first contact into services. This individual emulates the values of the organization by maintaining a safe space for all potential clients as they complete a brief screening for services. The Access Coordinator ensures that all applicable resources are mobilized to welcome and serve new clients and makes certain that any barriers preventing or hindering their treatment and engagement are addressed.
Responsibilities
- Manage high volume of inbound and outbound calls in a timely manner;
- Obtain relevant behavioral and physical health history and schedule Intake Assessment using electronic record;
- Collaborate with internal treatment program directors to ensure efficient workflows and minimize access delays;
- Execute multistep system of information management that support data collection and high quality customer service;
- Communicates regularly with billing department regarding insurance verifications and clinician credentialing;
- Assist clients/families in need of insurance by linking to PBHG Clinical Care Coordinators;
- Ensure clinical information is appropriately routed to the primary staff and program in a timely manner;
- Maintains strict confidentiality and respects the privacy and rights of consumers;
- Uploads hospital records into electronic records;
- Act as a community resource to all community members and partners who contact the access department;
- If bilingual, act as a language interpreter between PBHG staff and clients/family members upon request;
Qualification
- At least 1 year of experience in a behavioral health setting;
- Bachelor's degree preferred or one year relevant work experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
