We're a small but fierce group of writers, storytellers, and communicators harnessing the power of PR for mission-driven technology companies. We’re grounded, we’re fast (fun fact: quarter horses are the ones to bet on in a sprint), we can pivot on a dime (see: barrel racing), and we’re proud partners no matter how long the journey (see: cowboys). Despite being born in a pandemic, we have a solid company culture based on transparency, respect, empathy, and positive reinforcement. And fun.
We are a private, independent, woman-owned company. We are, of course, an equal opportunity employer and will consider all suitable applicants, but BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ people are strongly encouraged to apply. Our headquarters is in Brooklyn, so candidates in the New York City-area or adjacent are strongly preferred. We are a hybrid workplace, so commuting to the office daily is not required, though we do like to meet up in person a few times per month when possible, and do require proof of vaccination against COVID-19
Know how to grab the attention of a reporter/editor/producer in just a few lines? Do you love learning about new technologies and concepts and then getting to share those ideas with others in a relatable way? Does news FOMO haunt you if you didn’t read the day’s headlines before 10 am? If you are ready to come into your own to help build an agency committed to great stories and creative ways to showcase them, true team collaboration without drama, and a hand-in-hand, partner approach to client service, we may just have the next career move for you. We’re looking for a PR hire who’s ready to take on the world but certainly doesn’t want to go it alone, who doesn’t want to wait one minute longer to be recognized for their hard work and collaboration, and who is determined to make a difference in their work and relationships.
The account executive will have at least two years of PR agency experience, and a strong affinity for social media. Journalists ready to try the other side are also encouraged to apply. Our primary requirements are: curiosity, strong writing skills, and an ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include:
Strong writing skills and ability to absorb and translate complex concepts
Drafting story pitches, press releases, speaking submissions, and actionable social media content
Drafting emotionally-intelligent communications for a C-Suite audience (or a willingness to learn how to do so!)
Diving deep into clients’ technology, services, customers, employees, and culture to unearth stories that are both relevant to the media today and that serve the client’s objectives
Understanding and researching media lists that are accurate and appropriate for different client campaigns
Landing media coverage and creatively collaborating with the agency team and clients to make it happen
Contributing to the agency’s culture that combines empathy with excellence
Salary Range:
The salary for this position ranges from $65,000 per year at the AE level to $80,000 per year at the SAE level. This number does not include an annual profit-sharing bonus based on company performance.
