WHAT DOES THE ACCOUNT MANAGER DO?
The Account Manager will be part of a team responsible for the management of multiple POS (Point-of-Sale) and/or Branded Merchandise projects while working closely with the client to manage to timeline, budget and in market expectations. The manager will collaborate both internally and externally with key IMS counterparts as well as client and agency partners. This position will report into the Account Director. This is a fast paced, challenging work environment with room to grow.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Client Management
- Build credible relationships and act as key liaison between Client, Agencies and IMS.
- Field day-to-day inquiries from Client and Agency partners.
- Be responsive to client requests and needs. Provide thoughtful, concise, well-written, consistent communication.
- Manage Client expectations and goals, reworking unreasonable demands into positive achievable outputs.
- Understand key financial drivers for client and identify and collaborate efficiency initiatives benefiting IMS and client.
- Distinctive problem-solving and structuring skills, with the ability to synthesize data and information into useful formats and develop actionable insights supporting the proposal and value proposition
- Understand client needs in the marketplace and partner with key stakeholders to proactively provide relevant IMS service offerings
Project Management
- Oversee and manage weekly/monthly client promotions and high profile, complex product development projects. Ensure strong understanding of program brief / requirements and benefits of recommended solution(s).
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, independently, and efficiently
- Understanding of Point of Sale (POS) items including temporary, semi-permanent displays, premium/branded and printed materials
- Maintain day-to-day project plan working with internal and external stakeholders ensuring all sign offs and deadlines are met in accordance with the critical path timeline.
- Develop/review execution plans with sourcing teams and set priorities with client service and logistics operations teams to ensure on time and in full delivery
- Identify opportunities for upsell/program optimization and prepare a point of view for path forward
- Assist in developing content for quarterly business review meetings with key client team
- Participate in proactive innovation to develop and maintain business relationships, improve product knowledge and identify opportunities to improve service offering to our clients.
- Financial oversight and ownership of projects for quotes, reports, and invoices
- Support Director in any monthly forecasting and budgeting processes and information.
- Understand and execute efficiently against key client SLAs.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills by identifying issues and taking proactive actions
- Assign work appropriately to junior account staff
- Assist in various special projects as assigned by Account Director.
Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a proven history of career progression
- Minimum of four (4) years of account management experience in a marketing capacity
- Proven project management skills and track record of successful client management and Excellent written and oral interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both internally and externally
- Proven track record in managing client POS solutions, in either QSR, retail, CPG or beverage alcohol clients.
- Ability to maintain professional demeanor under pressure
- Some travel required
