We are seeking an experienced Accountant that is collaborative and team-minded who doesn’t just check the to-do boxes and call it a day. This key role reports directly to the Owner and will also work closely with our CPA firm. This is an opportunity to do the day-to-day hands-on accounting work, seek and implement solutions and be a key player on our leadership team.

BOXES TO CHECK

  • Perform all of the hands-on day-to-day transactional and accounting activities for MA and NH residential properties for 18 entities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, invoicing and reporting.
  • Utilize your expertise to complete the daily, weekly and monthly hands-on accounting work and projects.
  • Create and implement necessary accounting processes and procedures and look to maximize efficiencies within the multiple entities.
  • Reconcile rent rolls and interact with our property management team on tenant rent payments.
  • Responsible for financial reporting and analysis.
  • Oversee and reconcile up to 20+ bank accounts.
  • Communicate with our insurance brokers to manage the business insurance policies and ensure timely renewals.
  • Cultivate and manage business relationships with our banking and tax partners, investors, attorneys, vendors and other business professionals impacting the operations of this business.
  • Consult with and interact with our CPA firm on a regular basis on financial transactions, cost segregation studies, payroll, tax preparation and other related guidance affecting the business.
  • Collaborate with the Owner and management team ongoing financial and business operations.


MUST HAVES

  • 5-7 years’ experience in an Accountant role required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred however equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of education.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software and Excel, property management software a plus.
  • Solid understanding of general business operations
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal, credit report and motor vehicle background screening.
  • Team-minded collaborative thinker looking to grow with our organization
  • Energetic, self-directed and goal-oriented
  • Focused and able to analyze, identify and communicate trends
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal staff and external business partners
  • Mature-minded professional that can work independently from home
  • Company paid Predictive Index Screening will be required


IMPORTANT DETAILS

  • Work Schedule: Full time, generally Monday-Friday with flexibility
  • Job Location: Work from home in MA or NH – Office location will be established in Haverhill, MA so some in-office work will be required on occasion
  • Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 depending on experience
  • Benefits: Medical – 100% company paid for employee; difference paid by employee for family/spouse level coverage
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Holidays
