The Unit Accountant is responsible for producing and maintaining the company’s financial records. This position requires an extreme detail orientated person, highly organized with exceptional technical and math skills.

Responsibilities:

• Provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports.
• Be proficient in use of spreadsheets and database software.
• Maintain general record keeping and filing systems.
• Use of basic mathematics.
• Compare data from a variety of sources for accuracy and completeness.
• Detect errors.
• Follow, apply, interpret, and explain instructions and/or guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with the team.
• Utilize routine correspondence and reports.
• Keep office supplies stocked at appropriate levels.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping terminology and practices
• Prior experience using database tools and spreadsheet software such as Excel
• Comfort preparing and delivering reports to decision makers
• Ability to utilize math skills to analyze key financial data
• Ability to determine work priorities and adhere to deadlines
• Strong critical thinking skills; and
• Operate standard office equipment.
• Ability to work independently on assigned duties as well as work collaboratively with others within organization.
