SUMMARY

The Accountant I position will work closely with other accountants, internal and external, operations personnel, and handle day-to-day accounting functions. We are looking for an energetic and high-caliber professional who can add value to our department and organization.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of accounts, coordination, and completion of financial reporting for internal and investor review.
  • Analyze and report on financial status including variance analysis, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation, and analysis.
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
  • Assist in managing relationships through emails, telephone calls, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Work with other department personnel in maintaining stakeholder relations and ensuring overall satisfaction on an ongoing basis, including engaging in regular communication and follow-up on various corporate transactions.
  • Use computer software tools (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Sage Intact) to record all financial transactions and perform other day-to-day commercial property accounting-related functions.
  • Contact service providers through, phone calls, email, mailings, fax, and in-person (including in-person delivery of work-related documents).
  • Abide by all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform any and all other duties and responsibilities as directed and assigned by management.


EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education or experience required.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of accounting experience in a challenging office environment, is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of Sage Intacct.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret financial statements.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior organizational skills.
  • Ability to succeed in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, both with respect to managing workload and personal career development.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments to meet deadlines and job requirements
