New position! Pepper Source, Ltd. is growing and adding to our team in Metairie, LA! We are seeking a highly motivated AP Clerk who works well in a team environment with the ability to learn/grow.

Summary

The Accounting / Accounts Payable Clerk will work closely with the accounts payable and purchasing departments to assist in day-to-day tasks that include processing payments of invoices and data entry. Some light general clerical duties such as filing will also be a function of this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Accurately review, enter, and process vendor invoices for AP, raw goods, and freight.
• Perform data entry associated with AP.
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Sort, file, and prepare bills / invoices for payment.
• Process AP checks.
• Complete general clerical duties as assigned.

Competencies

• Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy with ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs.
• Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, and copier.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
• At least two years of related experience required.
• Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) certification preferred.
