The Microsoft Corporate Fixed Asset team is responsible for the reporting accuracy of billions of dollars in assets for US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). The Accounting Manager, Fixed Assets is responsible for Microsoft’s Fixed Asset accounting and processes for Corporate and Supply Chain, and will support reporting requirements, process improvements, data reconciliation and procedural efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for close-related activities including monthly general ledger account reconciliations for the Company’s manufacturing assets.
  • Monitor, review and support PC aged analysis and life-cycle for retirements.
  • Partner closely with global Supply Chain business partners to prepare monthly management reporting, variance analysis, and research.
  • Support Surbanes-Oxley (SOX), operational controls, and compliance for manufacturing assets.
  • Support Supply Chain asset physical count process.
  • Act as primary resource to identify fixed asset data quality and reporting enhancements partnering with global partners including Cloud & Infrastructure and Global Workplace Services.
  • Primary liaison for OneAsset reporting tool.
  • Partner and support Information Technology (IT) team on monthly depreciation support
  • Collaborate with team members on process improvement initiatives and projects.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 2+ years accounting or finance experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 1+ year(s) accounting or finance experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 4+ years of accounting or finance experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 2+ years accounting or finance experience.
  • Professional accounting certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent.
  • Experience with ERP, fixed assets, or other system subledger.
  • Critical thinking, comfortable dealing with complexity and ambiguity with tenacity to find answers and reach conclusions and operational excellence.
  • Planning and organizational skills.
Accounting IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $72,800 - $144,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $95,100 - $157,900 per year.
