Accounting Manager

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join our growing team. This role will join the Finance and Accounting team in Wakefield, MA. Description:

The Accounting Manager plays a leading role in ensuring the completeness and accuracy of all transactions in the general ledger in accordance with both US GAAP & IFRS Accounting Standards. Key responsibilities include monthly financial closings, corporate reporting, reconciliation, and analysis, as well as responding to various ad hoc management requests.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for driving the month-end close process, which includes balance sheet reconciliations, ad-hoc analyses, trial balance reviews, and financial statement preparation, while adhering to tight deadlines
  • Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures, as well as identify new policies and areas of improvement.

· Improve account reconciliation process, drive deadlines, enhance deliverables as they pertain to the month-end close and reporting package / financial statement preparation process.

· Research technical accounting issues to ensure compliance and train other team members on application.

· Identify areas for improvement and implement more effective and efficient processes and controls including systems enhancements and reports.

· Assist in cross training functions and team development and motivation of team members in changing environment

· Perform projects, ad hoc analysis and such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time

Required Skills:

· Bachelor of Science in Accounting required.

· CPA / in process of getting CPA license/ Big 4 public accounting firm experience are pluses

· 7-10 years of public accounting and/or industry experience in a public company

· Broad knowledge of accounting principles and standard and comfort teaching those skills including IFRS 16

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and work closely with and as part of the finance team.

· Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interface with people at all levels

· Willingness to expand range of responsibilities as needed based on the evolution of the company and the role. Enjoys working in a fast paced, energized, self-starter environment.

· Proactive, responsive and timely problem solver with outstanding project management skills, acute attention to detail, drives processes and deadlines.

· Accounting experience in a company that imports inventory is a plus.

· Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Navision a plus), demonstrated high proficiency with Microsoft suite in general and Excel specifically.

· Be ethical and responsible, with a desire to work as part of a team, collegial and cooperative.
