Our client is a distribution business that sells rock crushing equipment and peripheral products in the south-central region of the United States. The company is poised for significant growth and is building a strong finance and accounting team that can support this growth. They are currently seeking an Accounting Associate based in Austin, TX.
Duties and Responsibilities
The key function of the accounting team is to provide timely, accurate, and relevant financial information to the management team to allow management to make better business decisions. Therefore, accuracy and timeliness are critical to this position. This person will
- Input all A/P invoices within 24 hours of receipt
- Work with Controller to develop pay list for weekly check run
- Print checks, or download ACH, and receive appropriate approvals.
- Stay on top of A/P to ensure there are no lingering issues.
- Coding and reconciliation of the Credit Card account
- Invoicing of all delivered products and services
- A/R collections
- Recording customer payments and keeping accurate records of customer accounts.
- Processing payroll & commission
- Continuously make improvements in AP and AR processes to improve accuracy and efficiency
- Act with integrity always, remaining honest, transparent, and respectful in all relationships.
- Advance their skills by participating in professional training and cross-training offered by the company
Qualifications, Education, and Competency Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience in Accounting, preferably in an environment dealing with fixed assets
- Associates degree in finance or accounting preferred
- Proficiency working with enterprise accounting systems such as NetSuite, MS Dynamic, SAP, or Epicor. Preference will be given to NetSuite experience.
- Must have good solid Excel Skills - ex. Pivot tables, VLookups/Xlookups, SUMIFS, SumProduct
- Must be well-organized, accurate, and attentive to detail
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to be a supportive and positive team member
