Job Title: Accounting Specialist
Purpose: To perform and maintain accurate accounting functions including but not limited to account payables, account receivables and reconciliations.
Skills Needed to Excel in this Position:
- Enjoys high volume detailed and repetitive processes that require attention to details, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Good communication skills with multiple vendors and between departments.
- Knowledgeable and maintains good accounting practices, while making wise decision and improvements based on overall business objectives.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Able to travel to TX at least once per quarter.
Job Description:
- Apply Payments from Third Party Financing companies to the correct and appropriate customer account and work closely with customer service department to solve any issue if any.
- Banks reconcile, Account Receivable ledger/sub-ledger, investigate and correction if necessary.
- Review invoices for appropriate documentation, terms, enter all invoice info and categorize the spending category into company accounting system and post.
- Process 3 ways P.O. matching invoices, with multiple line items (if any)
- Respond to all vendor inquiries related to payment, invoicing, and credit memos.
- Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms.
- Maintains and improves visibility workflow process within A/P -Accounting office.
- Assist in month end closing.
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
- Assist with other projects as needed.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of Accountancy and/or Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience.
- High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting, applicable accounts receivable, payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures.
- Must have strong work ethic.
- Must be well organized and a self-starter.
- Be Professional, Be Positive attitude, Be Respectful, Be Reliable, Be team player.
- Proficient in Excel /Word, 10-key by touch, and type 50-60 wpm.
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.
- Ability to speak and write English fluently, professionally communicate effectively, verbally, in writing and listening.
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeline.
- Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately.
- Detail oriented and must be able to follow standard filing procedure.
