THE OPPORTUNITY:

The winter Activities Guide is required to be experience in outdoor activity facilitation with the ability to relate to and build trust with Moonlight members, families, and guests in a safe and fun learning environment. The Activities Guide will provide exceptional guest service, while hosting various outdoor winter activities, such as Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, fat tire biking, skating, snow tubing, downhill ski terrain. Safety and fun within a unique outdoor experience are our ultimate goals.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Meet and greet members and guests throughout the day with a professional attitude and appearance.
  • Check members in and insure they have completed seasonal waivers for all activities and equipment rentals.
  • Assist members and guests with directions to trails and other outdoor activities.
  • Check out and return all equipment while clearly explaining proper use, pricing and return policy.
  • Fit members and guests for snowshoes, hockey and ice skates, fat tire bikes, snow tubes and Nordic ski equipment.
  • Provide safe, fun, and professional winter guided experiences on and off moonlight property.
  • Assist with special events such as full moon snowshoes, member downhill ski races at big sky resort, and pick-up hockey games on our ice rink at Ulerys lake yurt.
  • Maintain Ulery’s Lake Camp and Lake lodge facilities including snow removal, building fires, stocking bar and hot drinks, and cleaning as necessary.
  • Assist with snow clearing throughout the day by operate small engine equipment such as snow blower, snowmobile and Zambini to maintain ice rinks, tubing hill, yurt deck, walkways, and Nordic trails.

KEYS TO SUCCESS:

  • High School diploma and/or equivalent education.
  • Minimum of one-year experience guiding or facilitating client-based winter programs in terrain similar to that found in SW Montana.
  • Minimum of one-year experience in the hospitality industry in an outdoor setting.
  • Advance ability utilizing GPS systems, topographical maps, and compasses for navigational purposes.
  • Ability to make sound, common sense, and rational decisions in the field and under pressure.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Preferred but not required Certifications/ Training
  • First Aid or equivalent emergency training.
    • CPR Certification.
    • PSIA Level I Nordic Skiing certification preferred.
  • Ability to comply with Moonlight Basin’s grooming and uniform policies.
  • Must be able to work, nights, weekends, and holidays during the winter season, December through mid-April.

We offer employee housing in Big Sky and free transportation to Moonlight from employee housing and Bozeman daily.
