Activity Aide Job at Sylmar Health and Rehabilitation Center
Sylmar Health and Rehabilitation Center is a locked psychiatric facility. We are currently seeking a full-time Activity Aide to join our team!
Summary of Position: The primary purpose of this position is to assist in planning, implementation, evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, and emotional programs in accordance to the residents' need and as may be directed by a Supervisor.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assists with planning, developing recreational activities and conducts groups in which residents carry out these activities, organizing and fulfilling a program of recreational activities for residents.
- Encourage residents to participate in hobbies and crafts
- Assist the Activities Director in the development and implementation of special events as well as outing and theme socials.
- Supervises residents engaged in scheduled activities to promote the physical, social, and mental well-being of residents by applying experience in activities and knowledge of diagnoses and conditions of residents.
- Attendance at all weekly mandatory staff in-service or meetings.
- Monitoring patient safety.

- Ability to interact with residents in the milieu and model appropriate social and professional behavior.

- Experience in mental health and substance abuse populations preferred but not required.
- Ability to work with patients in a manner that is productive and coincides with patient treatment goals.
Education
- High School Diploma or its equivalent
Schedule
- 12pm-8pm (7.5 hour shift)
- 5 work days (Available days off: Friday-Saturday OR Sunday-Monday)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $17.25 per hour
