Adjunct Instructor of Mathematics

Job Location: Teaching locations include any campus site, in-person instruction/streaming synchronous desk top video within the 10 county service region including dual enrollment high school locations.
Job Objective: Teach college (transfer) or learning support (non-transfer) level mathematics courses.

Essential Job Functions:
A. Teach daytime in person/streaming synchronous desk top video classes at any campus location including dual enrollment high school locations.
B. Assist in student retention.
C. Complete educational outcome measures and academic reporting as required.
D. Communicate regularly with students and other employees using campus computer systems.
E. Incorporate technology into the curriculum to include web-based, mobile devices, calculators, or synchronous desk top video streaming course delivery as well as support to the students for these modalities.
F. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Standards:
A. For transfer college level course: Master’s degree with eighteen or more graduate semester hours in mathematics from a regionally accredited institution.
B. For non-transfer math courses: Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or Associate’s degree with a demonstrated competency in the teaching of mathematics.
C. Experience working with graphing calculators, computerized instructional equipment and materials, and mobile devices.
D. Ability to communicate and develop effective interpersonal relationships with faculty, staff and students.
E. A demonstrated commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy.

Equipment: Computer equipment, mobile devices, computer software, graphing calculators, audio visual equipment, other instructional tools and other standard office equipment.

Critical Skills/Expertise: Teaching competence in learning support and college-level mathematics, the ability to use computer system skills, the ability to communicate effectively, and to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, other employees and the public.
