PRIMARY DUTY: The School of Education at Northwest Missouri State University is seeking candidates to create a pool of applicants who can teach as an Adjunct within the following disciplines: curriculum and instruction, education leadership, educational diagnostician, literacy and reading, special education, and middle school education. Classes will be on campus but may involve visiting practicum students in area schools. Classes may be in the fall, spring, and summer trimesters.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Teach courses within specific disciplines within the School of Education
2. Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR UNDERGRADUATE COURSES:
  • Education: Earned Master's degree in specific discipline listed above with 18 hours in content area and/or credentials, qualifications and/or tested experience sufficient for HLC accreditation
  • Certification/License: Driver's license
  • Experience: Evidence of successful P-12 teaching in the discipline and related P-12 level
  • Skills: Skills and experience with instructional technology

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR UNDERGRADUATE COURSES:
  • Education: Terminal degree (EdD or PhD) in specific discipline

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR GRADUATE COURSES:
  • Education: Earned terminal degree in specific discipline listed above
  • Certification/License: Driver's license
  • Experience: Evidence of successful P-12 teaching in the discipline and related P-12 level
  • Skills: Skills and experience with instructional technology

WORKING CONDITIONS: This position will work in an academic environment with collaborative team-based faculty and have access to the Internet for online course sites and materials, along with Northwest email.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to complete essential classroom functions and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds
