THE COLLEGE
Located in the northwest corner of the United States, Peninsula College is nestled in the foothills of the Olympic Mountains. The main campus in Port Angeles, Washington, overlooks the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the nearby city of Victoria, British Columbia, and has easy access to the Pacific Ocean, Olympic National Park, and Seattle. Port Angeles is two hours from Seattle and a one-hour ferry ride to Victoria, Canada. The College is honored to serve six sovereign American Indian nations in the region: Jamestown S’Klallam, Lower Elwha Klallam, Quileute, Makah, Hoh, and Port Gamble S’Klallam.
The College is honored to have strong relationships with these six federally recognized Tribes in the College’s service district. The College is home to Longhouse of Learning. It is the first Longhouse in the nation to be built on a community College campus. The College offers transferable Indigenous language courses in Klallam/S’Klallam, Makah and Quileute and Hoh languages. Instructional programs include a Tribal Homeland Security & Emergency Management certificate and an Integrated Indigenous Studies transfer pathway. The College is committed to doing more and taking future direction from the Tribes.

THE POSITION
This position supports Marketing & Communications, the Foundation, and Institutional Research, and reports to the Executive Assistant to the President. This assistant position is a critical team member of the Office of the President that will support the department leads and projects of the President. Working with Executive Assistant to the President, together they will ensure consistency in the delivery of excellent service and support the endeavors of the Office of the President.

- Organizes, plans, supports, and coordinates events.
- Serves as the main point of contact for the planning of the Fall Spectacular Event or other community wide events.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to work in a fast pace environment, and have friendly people skills
- Makes travel arrangements.
- Drafts correspondence for the Office of the President and/or Foundation.
- Schedules meetings, create agendas, facilitates zoom meetings, takes, and distributes meeting notes and action items.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are essential. This includes the ability to speak clearly and fully comprehend written and spoken English and to communicate clearly with native and non-native English speakers.
- Ability to act professionally to represent the Office of the President.
- Supports the Peninsula College Foundation:
- Creates and/or distributes mailings, correspondence, and marketing materials.
- To meet with acceptable accounting/audit protocols, shares responsibility with other Foundation staff in:
- picking up/delivering mail;
- processing Foundation payables and receivables (preparing, scanning, logging and filing);
- making bank deposits.
- Sets up/preps for Foundation Board Meetings.
- Takes and prepares Foundation Board meeting minutes and follows up on action items.
- Aids Foundation staff in creating content for Facebook and other media outlets.
- Assists with the employee giving campaign and Foundation events/activities.
- Assists with procurements requests.
- Assists with collegewide survey implementation.
- Supports College Council with notes and meeting scheduling.
- Creates and maintains documentation of general business processes.
- Serves on various campus and community committees.
- Supports implementation of the College’s equity goals.

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work is performed in an office environment and requires standing and/or sitting and using computers and office equipment for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

EMPLOYMENT PAY AND BENEFITS INFORMATION

- Anticipated starting monthly salary: $3,024.00 - $3,246.00
