in the Dean’s Office. This entry-level position supports general office operations, assisting the Dean, associate deans, and professional staff in the office and interacting with students, faculty, and staff from academic and administrative units across campus

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and carrying out all daily office activities including, but not limited to, reception, monitoring and routing incoming incoming paperwork, and ordering office supplies. The Administrative Assistant also collaborates with office staff to develop and maintain electronic filing systems for tracking, record keeping, and reporting. This position works closely with the CAS associate deans, scheduling appointments and working on various documents and processes related to office and college operations.

The position also serves as a liaison between CAS and students, faculty, professional staff, parents, alumni, and other internal and external constituents. Duties may includes explaining, interpreting, and enforcing policies and procedures; answering various questions from constituents; processing special requests; and investigating and resolving problems as they arise.

Qualifications
An associate’s degree plus two to three years of relevant administrative experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable skills are acquired, is required.
Candidates should possess a broad base of basic administrative and organizational skills, including reception and working with word processing and spreadsheet applications. Candidates with experience organizing and maintaining complex filing and records systems, and those having experience with computerized information systems, are preferred.
The ideal candidate must have the ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of University personnel, students, and/or outside individuals/organizations.
