Description:The School of Nursing is seeking a part - time (30 hours/week) Assistant to the Dean and Graduate Program Coordinator to provide operational support for the graduate programs in the School of Nursing and support to the Dean of the School of Nursing. This position will become full time in July or August of 2023. Support for graduate nursing programs includes responsibilities such as preparation of revisions to the student handbooks, planning and communicating with students about events (such as orientation and end of program celebrations/ceremonies), and corresponding with students once they are admitted to the programs. Additionally, the person in this role is a liaison between the graduate nursing programs and enrollment, marketing and recruitment offices. This person will support the program directors and Faculty in coordinating clinical and internship placements by verifying credentials of preceptors, assuring all requirements for clinical placement are met, and maintaining records in the department. The Coordinator also serves as a secretary for Curriculum Committee meetings by scheduling meetings, taking minutes and preparing files for discussion. Support for the Dean includes responsibilities such as tracking enrollment, graduation and other data required for reports to NYSED, accrediting bodies and professional organizations. This Assistant to the Dean also coordinates annual Community Advisory Board meetings and acts as a recording secretary for Advisory Board and School of Nursing meetings. The person in this role will also process growth contracts and payments for the School of Nursing, process contracts for adjunct Faculty and other Faculty payments.
Requirements:Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of work-related experience preferred. Ability to represent the University and School of Nursing in a positive and professional manner. Excellent customer service, computer skills, communication skills and strong attention to detail are required. The ability to keep student information confidential is essential. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate cultural competence and must value the principles of diversity and equity.
