This position is within the Department of Adult Correction established on January 1st, 2023.

The salary grade for this position is NC08. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.
Salary Grade:NC08 Salary Range: $35,788-$62,628
This is a position at Piedmont Correctional Institution located in Salisbury, N.C. (Rowan County), which is a Medium male prison facility housing approximately 800 offenders.
Positions in this class are characterized by knowledge or skills particular to an area of specialization, process, or program.
Work requires specialized knowledge in the processing and application of information, documents and/or materials. The majority of time is allocated to tasks that involve several steps and require the selection of the most appropriate action within procedural and operational guidelines. The range of duties includes, but is not limited to, verifying data, report writing, summarizing and reconciling information or financial data, records management, claims review and processing, data collection and analysis, research, inventory, personnel administration and fund collection or expenditures.
The role is different from the Administrative Associate because fewer general office or administrative tasks are performed.
Examples of the areas of specialization in this class include, but are not limited to, payroll, student services, accounting, medical records, call center, statistical, and human resources. This position may serve as a primary staff assistant to the Warden.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:
Documented composition and communication skills (written and oral)
Documented proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
