Position Summary
The Admission and Scheduling representative is responsible for the scheduling and admissions of patients. Obtains precertification information needed for all admissions (outpatient/inpatient). Works with provider offices to obtain pre-certification information and contacts insurance companies for all patient types requiring pre-admission certification, notification, in-network, out-network, and benefits verification.
Integrates knowledge and skills with effective interactions to provide quality work. Provides direct and indirect ways to communicate with those who need it, meeting the needs of each encounter, in-line with their scope. Decisions and actions are determined in an ethical manner practicing compassion and respect for the inherent dignity, worth and unique attributes of each person. Effectively communicates with patients/families, visitors, colleagues, physicians, leadership, and volunteers.
