About the Job

Salary :

  • Starting at $40,560.00

Responsibilities:

  • Use a strength based, trauma informed, family centered approach to manage and coordinate all activities related to families adopting children through one of the CYFS adoption programs.
  • Maintain and protect confidential information and assist in accessing information as it applies to adoption law.
  • Provide parent training and home study assessments to prepare adoptive parents for the lifelong journey of adoption.
  • Monitor adoptive homes to ensure compliance with all agency, state and federal licensing standards.
  • Compile professional reports including recommendations to the agency, DCFS and the courts regarding the adoptive placement. Complete all necessary paperwork to track activities and cases, ensuring compliance with all state, federal, and agency procedures and/or regulations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the importance of the Indian Child Welfare Act ( ICWA) and relevant provisions of the act as it relates to adoptive practice
  • Work with agency case managers, pregnancy counselors and other internal resources to match waiting children with waiting families.
  • Facilitate adoptions of children with special needs. Provide additional support and training to address the identified child's special needs.
  • Maintain a 65% direct service quota.
  • Actively recruit new adoptive homes to the agency by attending events, taking phone calls, talking with referrals, and/or presenting speeches to raise awareness of the benefits and the need for adoptive parents.
  • Support adoptive parents through pre and post adoption support groups, special events, newsletter articles, support groups, advisory boards and/or other necessary services.
  • Partner with crisis pregnancy counselors to promote awareness and support for the birth parent community.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings and provide input on program and agency-wide issues
  • Help cultivate and promote desired work culture and agency values.
  • Structure work in order to avoid crisis, meet deadlines, and adequately prepare for supervision and meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • Child Welfare Experience (Preferred)
  • Completion of DCFS criminal background check (Required)
  • Must be 21 years of age, obtain an insured vehicle, clean driving record, and three years driving record with a valid driver's license
