Bachelor’s Degree in Education; teaching English Language Acquisition; or related field.

Arizona State Adult Education Certificate.

Able to pass a fingerprint and background check

Provides learning environments that enhance the development of language fluency and self-esteem of learners.

Integrate language acquisition with relevant life experience.

Participates in the development of ELAA curriculum that coordinates and enables students’ progress from ELAA Literacy through ELAA Advanced High.

Develop students’ receptive English-language skills of listening and reading comprehension, and their productive English language skills of speaking and writing.

Complete and submit all required data and accountability documentation in a timely manner.

Teach in a multi-level classroom.

Supervise volunteer tutors in one-to-one or small group settings.
-
Design lesson plans to respond to documented needs and goals of students.

Track and report student progress to the Student Data Coordinator and Instructor.

Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Stand for long periods of time

JOB TITLE:
Adult Education ELAA- AM Teacher
JOB GOALS:
Prepare and deliver competency based ELAA instruction to equip adult students with language and cultural proficiencies to complete the English Acquisition program and transition to career pathways and/or postsecondary education so that they may participate fully in the American society.
QUALIFICATIONS:
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 16 hours a week (AM) or 6 hours a week
COMPENSATION: $24.53 Per Hour
REPORTS TO: Special Projects Director
HOURS: 16 hours per week
CLASSIFICATION: Grant Fund Hourly, Non-Exempt
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
Initial evaluation to be completed no later than ninety (90) days after first day of work; thereafter, annually by supervisor.
