Job Summary

The Bellevue Parks and Community Services department is looking for positive, energetic, and confident people to work with a variety of recreational adult sports programs. Experience working with sports & recreation programs and diverse clientele highly desired. This position will be responsible for supervising game day operations, scorekeeping and communicating with program participants.

** Work hours will range from 4-18 hours per week, (weekday evenings, Sunday evenings). Location of position will vary based on program.

  • Willingness to lead all program-related activities.
  • Interest in seeking program specific training, guidance and direction.
  • Work effectively and communicate with the public and fellow employees.
  • Follow written and oral instructions.
  • Assist in preparing written reports as assigned.
  • Assist with program set up and take down.
  • Present a neat and professional appearance.
  • Enthusiastic and positive outlook.
  • Embrace individual and group differences.

Qualifications

  • General knowledge of sports, specifically basketball and volleyball rules and scoring.
  • Knowledge of the principles, rules, materials and equipment in facility.
  • Must have background check cleared.
  • 18 years of age to apply.
  • Required to work evenings and weekends.
  • May require working some department events that are outdoors.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • May require strenuous activity.
  • May require lifting, bending, reaching, extended periods of time.

  • Will assist with program preparation and set up. Set up and takedown can be physically demanding (lifting heavy items, moving equipment, etc.)

This is a non-union, variable position.

Definition of a Variable Employee:
  • Average weekly hours cannot be determined at date of hire
  • Hours may vary from week to week and are anticipated to be 28 hours per week or less
NOTE: Will be considered full-time and eligible for medical coverage if hours average 30 hours per week or more over a 12-month measurement period (or 130 hours per month)
