Job Description

The Advanced Analytics Consultant Senior employs strategic perspectives with advanced analytical methods to identify new opportunities to improve the whole health of our members. This individual is able to both identify new, specific opportunities for advanced analytics in addition to evaluating the potential of analytic deliverables brought to them. This individual will create statistical models to predict, classify, quantify, and/or forecast business metrics; but will also be able to identify, define, evolve, solicit buy-in, and ultimately enable execution of the opportunities created by these models.

Primary duties may include:

• Lead multidisciplinary efforts to design and efficiently implement impactful analytic and reporting strategies.

• Design predictive models related to use of behavioral health benefits, social drivers of health, and corresponding drivers of medical benefit usage

• Collaborate with stakeholders responsible for implementing programs based on results of predictive models to ensure accurate interpretation of results.

• Prepares analytical data sets in support of modeling studies. Builds, tests, and validates statistical models.

• Develops original algorithms and implement in systems and tools that will be used to develop new predictive models and provider profiles that go beyond standard industry tools and lead to innovative solutions to address cost and use of medical benefits.

• Publishes results and address constraints/limitations with high level business partners.

• Provides high-level controllership/evaluation of all data produced to ensure established targets are met.

• Determines the continuous improvement opportunities of current predictive modeling algorithms.

• Proactively collaborates with business partners to determine identified population segments and develop actionable plans to enable the identification of patterns related to quality, use, cost and other variables.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires Doctoral Degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics, Epidemiology or equivalent training and mastery; minimum 10 years experience in related health care analytics; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

• 5 to 10 years of experience with SQL.

Preferred Skills, Experiences and Competencies

• Proven ability to present meaningful results to a business audience.

• Demonstrated leadership competencies with the ability to collaborate with others and establish working relationships, communicate effectively across the organization and at different levels, coordinate multiple work efforts, and translate business needs into practical applications and solutions. Demonstrated experience in managing the design, development, and continuous improvement of complex healthcare data systems, tools, and reports.

• advanced knowledge of math, probability, and algorithmic development in python or R.

• Familiarity with relational database environments such as MS SQLServer, Teradata, Oracle, and experience in distributed environments like Hadoop.

• Proven ability to design modeling studies.

• Experience with data models, addressing data quality issues in study design, constructing robust and efficient analytical data sets.
