Schedule: Seasonal Full Time
Pay Rate: Day pay $150- $180 DOE, + up to a 17% bonus

Job Overview: Oversee daily operations on the Zipline Course and Via Ferrata. This position is responsible for ensuring the safety and exceptional experience for guests and employees. To supervise and ensure the implementation of all aspects of AVA's land-based activity operations at the Buena Vista Outpost. Responsible for staff training and supervision.

Requirements:

  • Become proficient with AVA’s reservation, staff management software and other associated software systems.
  • Perform daily inspections and maintain digital daily inspection logbook.
  • Provide on-going coaching/feedback to zipline staff.
  • Report any issues to the General Manager for any disciplinary actions.
  • Update and manage weekly log for equipment inspection
  • Create and manage a schedule on a weekly basis
  • Observe seasonal staff expectations
  • Maintain an expert level knowledge of all applicable codes, best practices and regulations including but not limited to; ACCT Standards and State of Colorado Amusement Ride and Device Regulations
  • Accident/Near Miss-response and reporting
  • Investigation/ Training
  • Determine a protocol and acting MOD when you are not present or on your weekend
  • Work with operations manager on-site to address any guest service issues that arise during MOD shift
  • Understand and serve the companies best interest and goals
  • Enforce AVA Rafting & Zip line policies
  • Facilitate communication between staff and management
  • Develop long term strategies for increasing efficiency within AVA Rafting & Zip line
  • Address upset guests and guest service issues with the goal of turning each interaction into a happy return customer
  • Guide zipline tours
  • Keep records for maintenance, daily, weekly, monthly and annual inspections, guide training, continuing education, accident reporting, prevention plans and safety meetings as well as any other documentation recommended/required by the State of Colorado, ACCT, ANSI, insurance and upper management
  • Continue to implement an extensive training program for new, returning, and new to AVA but experienced zip guides
  • Conduct return staff refresher training
  • Work within a budget supervised by the General Manager
  • Maintain trip operations in the most efficient manner possible to meet guest needs and budget restrictions

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of 1-year experience on a zipline/canopy tour
  • Minimum ACCT Level I certification
  • Management experience
  • Build experience
  • CPR
  • First Aid
  • Extensive knowledge of proper rescue and evacuation procedures from a high ropes/zipline course
