Position Title: Missisquoi Valley Middle/High School After School Programs Site Lead

Reports to: Swanton Elementary After School Programs Site Coordinator
Location: Highgate Elementary, 219 Gore Road (and occasional remote work)

The Swanton Elementary After School Site Lead supports the After School Site Coordinator after school from 2pm - 6pm Monday - Thursday during the school year on site. They are responsible for monitoring program quality and classroom safety, distributing meals, acting as a positive role model for students in grades 2-6, ensuring all classrooms and activity spaces are prepped and ready each day, instructing after school programs, etc. They will work in close collaboration with the Site Coordinator to ensure smooth and effective programming. This is a part-time position, pay based upon experience starting at $18/hr. There are opportunities for remote and summer work.

Site Leads facilitate and oversee quality programming that aligns with MVSD and 21C guidelines and ensures:

● Students’ safety and satisfaction with the program;
● Each staff member has what they need and is performing well;
● Programs are diverse in content and accessible to all; and

Duties and responsibilities include:
● Supervising and leading quality classes after school;
● Participating in and contributing to school events;
● Addressing staff, parent, and camper concerns;
● Completing all required trainings;
● Prepping each classroom and activity space each day; and
● Supporting the Site Coordinator as needed.

Skills required:
● Comfortability with Google Suite and Microsoft Suite;
● Strong verbal and written communication skills;
● Strong leadership skills;
● Experience in program creation and management for school-aged children; and
● Reliable transportation

The Highgate After School & Summer Programs are free for students in grades 2 - 6. We are funded through a Vermont Agency of Education 21st Century Community Learning Center grant, as well as additional grants, fundraising, and the school budget. Students have access to fun hands-on opportunities throughout the year that focus on math, science, literacy, creative arts, fitness, community service, mentorship, etc. We complement the school day by creating safe and inspirational environments after school, complete with bus transportation, meals, and customized high-quality programming.
