PROGRAM: After School Enrichment at Wintergreen Magnet School
Position: After-School Teacher
Rate: $46.00 per hour
Hours: up to 10 hours per week
ACES is seeking a Certified Teacher to work in the After-School Enrichment Program at Wintergreen Magnet School. The program will operate Monday through Thursdays be up to 10 hours per week after the school day. This position will act as the link to school day learning, supporting the after-school students with extended learning opportunities, with tutoring and with homework help. As well as being a liaison for the afterschool students and their day time teachers. The After-School Teacher will earn $46 per hour, this is a certified position that is federally funded through the ARP After School Grant.
Reports to: Site Coordinator and Principal
Job Goal: To create and implement academic after school activities to support extended learning. This position will act as a link to the school day learning by creating additional learning opportunities and supporting students with homework help. The After-School Teacher will support the Site Coordinator with oversight of the after-school programing at Wintergreen Magnet funded through the ARP After School grant. This position will assist in maintain the safety of all students will maintain positive parent and school relationships and will help promote the program.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Create and implement After-School academic programming and activities
- Support and guide After School Staff with Tutoring students and homework help
- Support and guide After School Staff with implementing learning activities
- Communicate any student concerns that arise during homework time with student’s daytime classroom teacher(s) to support the student’s success
- Remain at building site during all program hours
- Develop and maintain a high level of communication and positive relationships with students, families, principal, teachers, school staff, and program staff at building site.
- Monitor and address student behavior in collaboration with the Principal and Site Coordinator
- Communicate regularly with parents via email, phone and/or during dismissal time.
- Respect cultural diversity and create an inclusive, welcoming and collaborative environment.
- Assume such other functions as may be determined.
Terms of Employment: Hourly rate; this is a part-time position that operates during the school year only and is a certified grant funded position that will be paid based on hours worked
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Teachers Certification required
- Strong communication, organizational skills, and project management skills
- Detail oriented, flexible, and adapts to change
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Experience with out of school programming and activities preferred
- Strong knowledge in program development, program management and organizing after-school programs strongly preferred
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the ACES may find appropriate and acceptable
