Summary: Goodland Academy is a Christian, holistic boarding & private school for disadvantaged students who often struggle with learning and behavioral challenges.

This position is for a After-school teacher. You would be in charge of children in our after-school program Goodland Unplugged grades 1st through 6th. In this role, your duties are to develop a curriculum, lead a variety of activities and games, make snack, work with parents, help students with homework, and more. As our after-school teacher, you are in charge of maintaining a healthy and safe classroom environment for all your students.

We are looking for a creative and self-motivated person who is willing to join us as we rebuild our educational program. The ideal candidate would be someone who has experience in working with youth in need, can motivate students, and can assess and build a curriculum for our students

Schedule: Will work every Monday-Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. throughout the year, except for holidays and breaks as noted on the school calendar. Schedule is subject to change based on needs.

• Ten (10) days of paid personal leave are allowed for unexpected illnesses and events during each calendar year. Any absence from the campus during regular working hours will be considered a full day of leave.
• Must be able to work during some student breaks as the Administrator sees fit.

Knowledge/Experience: Will have a B.A./B.S. from an accredited university (In lieu of the above noted requirement, teachers must be enrolled in a bachelor program at an accredited university, actively pursuing a degree.)

• Must be familiar with technology ; including, but not limited to: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Adobe PDF Reader, Microsoft Outlook, laptop/desktop computers, Google apps, Google Chrome/Firefox, online curriculum modules.
• Must have a general knowledge of curriculum in all subjects covered in grades K-12 and possess an ability and willingness to tutor subject matter from any of these grades, contingent upon the needs of the student and of Goodland Academy.
• Teaching certification preferred, but not required. Applicant should be willing and able to pursue this certification.

Must possess or obtain a valid driver’s license within 90 days of employment as well as a suitably safe driving record.

Will also possess a clean criminal record and excellent references.

Must possess good verbal, writing, and organizational skills in order to maintain the proper documentation as required to meet the needs of the students in the care of Goodland Academy.

Must possess unquestionable moral and emotional fitness and display ability to model appropriate behavior, morals, and responsibility.

Must possess a focus toward communicating and building rapport with the students entrusted to their care. This includes an ability to counsel effectively with the student, and also assumes a familiarity with effective and acceptable techniques for dealing with inappropriate behaviors.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
