AGLC Technician 2nd Shift Job at Hanesbrands, Inc.
Overview:
Maintain assigned AGLC machines at optimum operating level to include timely short duration electro-mechanical adjustments and major machine repair in order to ensure high quality sewing performance and a minimum of machine downtime. Respond to indications of trouble on computer display. Perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines according to stipulated procedures. Apply QPI principles and techniques effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze all problems and make necessary repairs on AGLC machines. Repairs may include the following duties:
- Replace electronic components such as PC boards, photoelectric cells, connectors and switches.
- Repair and/or replace main operating components such as gusset shears, insertion unit, scissoring unit, separation unit, chucking unit, labeling unit, toe closer, etc.
- Troubleshoot and perform electrical repairs ranging from simple adjustments to changing switches, relays, etc.
- Change traps, air cylinders, solenoids, photo sensors, etc.
- Change sewing machine parts such as feed dogs, burners, chain cutters, needles, knives and belts.
- Perform periodic preventive maintenance/controlled fixing duties on assigned machines in accordance with prescribed PM procedures. Duties include but not limited to:
- Check condition of photo cells, safety switches, solenoids, sewing knives and other major mechanical component assemblies.
- Check for worn, missing and/or loose parts.
- Check belt tension, machine Rpm’s and condition of rubber components.
- Check for proper machine lubrication, etc.
- Perform necessary adjustments on machine components to maintain machine at the optimum operating level.
- Maintain inventory records of parts requisitioned from parts inventory.
- Set up new machines as required.
- Make style changeover adjustments to machine components as needed.
- Prepare reports regarding controlled fixing status, parts inventory requisitions, machine RPM status, etc. in accordance with prescribed procedures.
- Perform other related duties as directed by supervision such as work in AMB Department.
Technical knowledge. Must be able to understand and use technical drawings and manuals. Requires working knowledge and technical competence in mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. Must demonstrate proficiency in recognition and use of hand tools, power tools, and electrical/electronic test equipment. Must be able to solve mathematical problems independently.(Must pass a Fixer’s test to be qualified to learn.)
