Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Involves the administrative services and operations for health care clinics or centers, in accordance with federal, local, and internal standards, policies, and regulations. Typically includes operations, fiscal management, program planning, and / or external marketing activities. Management levels may include oversight of clinical patient care. (Note, when primary focus is patient care, see Ambulatory Patient Care Services job function.)

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Minimum of 3 years of health care industry experience
- Project management
- Excellent communication skills; includes active listening and critical thinking. Demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely communicate clinic content, rules and regulations. Be successful in a consensus decision making environment ability to lead communication planning
- Strong interpersonal skills. Actively leads, cooperates and supports the work of others. Ability to work productively with anyone regardless of background. Empathetic and aware of impact on others. Motivate a diverse workforce. Work effectively in teams.
- Productive in work volume, speed, quality and consistency. Ability to see projects through to completion on deadline. Excellent interpersonal judgment and discretion. Ability to work well as part of an administrative team with a customer service orientation towards co-workers, faculty and researchers. Ability to function effectively in a dynamic, fast paced and variable environment
- Ability to perform all commonly applicable functions in the Microsoft Suite. Skills in data management. Effectively uses relevant healthcare and clinic operations information technology, including billing systems and medical record documentation.
- Thorough knowledge of data management and documentation methods used in ambulatory care clinics. Ability to work independently with data management
- Strong skills and abilities to perform independent, self-directed work, with minimal oversight
- Strong ability to produce independent financial and data projections.
- Strong visual and verbal presentation skills; able to present to and engage a variety of audiences, spanning from frontline staff to executive leadership.
- Ability to work autonomously with appropriate escalation when needed.
- Familiarity with Lean methodology and structured problem solving.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identity trends, data gaps and support development of dashboards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience managing ambulatory and, physician practices in a large integrated health care system
- MBA or MHSA
- Lean certification
