Job Summary:

In this position, you will have a unique and exciting opportunity to join us in offering our clients practical solutions with easy to understand features while delivering them with clarity and integrity. This position reports to the Chief Product Officer. This position will serve in a lead role within the company’s Product Development and Management initiatives across annuity products (fixed, indexed, and variable). The role will be a key position in the future growth of the company.

Main Accountabilities:

• Lead the Company’s analytical competitive intelligence function and engage with senior leadership on product features and competitiveness
• Lead competitor and industry intelligence analyses to drive strategic decision making specific to various annuity products (fixed, indexed, and variable) and associated distribution channels (Independent Marketing Organizations, Banks, and Broker-Dealers)
• Develop reporting to quantitively assess each of the Company’s products compared to the relevant competitor set
• Develop advanced analytical competitive reporting that incorporates various features of competitor products so they can be quantitatively assessed relative to the Company’s products
• Interface with product development and modeling actuaries to assess impacts and costs of various features and benefits offered in competitor products
• Assess industry and company-specific annuity product sales to identify trends that will help inform the Company’s strategic decision-making including product development
• Establish and foster strong working relationships with peers within the Product, Marketing, Distribution, etc groups.
• Review filings, prospectuses, and marketing materials for the Company’s products
• Review products and associated filings of key competitors to understand and assess the competition.
• Review product filings and industry publications as they are released to ensure timely identification of product trends and opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of five years of experience in the annuity industry or relevant experience
• Familiarity with industry data sources including state and SEC filings, industry surveys, and other sources of competitive intelligence
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead meetings and make presentations to senior management
• Strong understanding of insurance, annuities, and other financial products
• Ability to use and explain various analytical and quantitative tools
• Self-starter with the ability to drive projects forward
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to influence and build relationships across the organization.
• Experience in managing multiple, complex, corporate wide projects.
• Concise and persuasive oral and written communication skills.
• Solid analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking skills to understand and anticipate the impact and opportunities across various projects.
• Industry designations such as FLMI would be a plus, but not required
