Job Description

Job Summary:
Automated & Intergration Solutions Application Sales Engineer – work alongside the north American sales team to support end customers and strategic partners in prescribing a solution that meets/exceeds the needs of the project. Work alongside the sales team to discover a customer's business challenges and creates a unique solution prototype to present back to their decision makers, illustrating value and benefits via an engaging story.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Support sales team, strategic partners and key end user accounts with technical expertise and collaboration.
  • Gathers and maintains up-to-date competitive and market intelligence
  • Works closely with internal cross functional groups (including but not limited to Engineering, R&D, Product Management, Technical Support team, etc.
  • Ensures new products/services fulfill marketplace requirements.
  • Conduct demonstrations and online trails of products at customer sites, trade shows, seminars, events.
  • Create application spotlights to help drive awareness and demand in the market
  • Support application feasibility studies
  • Provide intergration expertise of Teledyne FLIR fixed thermal cameras into PLCs, PCs, machine vision systems, Video Management Systems, or controllers.
  • Troubleshoot issues with customers/partners and provide resolution in a timely manner.
  • Serve as the business unit’s SME (subject matter expert) for customer needs.
Job Qualifications:
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures related to system intergration, cyber security concerns, etc.
  • Experience in sales of industrial automation solutions or similar products.
  • Skilled with hands-on mechanical and electrical engineering and troubleshooting.
  • As a plus, sales experience with some or all the following products: Machine Vision Systems, Motion Control (Servos, Drives, Controllers and Motors), PLC/HMI (hardware, software, and interfaces), Components (Sensors, Relays and Switches),
  • Must demonstrate strong conflict resolution skills and tact
  • Team player mentality but able to work independently as required.
  • This is an in the field role. Day or overnight travel up to 50% travel may be required at certain times.
  • Possess a knowledge of principles related to automation protocols and networking (EtherNet/IP • IEEE 1588 • Modbus TCP • MQTT • SNMP • TCP, UDP, SNTP, RTSP, RTP, HTTP, HTTPS, ICMP, IGMP, sftp (server), FTP (client), SMTP, DHCP, MDNS (Bonjour), uPn, RestAPI, etc.
