What will you do with Premier Construction & Design?

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

This position is meant for an individual who enjoys the full scope of the design/build process allowing them to space plan and facilitate client meetings, but also work on projects on the construction side to bridge the gap between design and construction.

  • Create preliminary space plans, pricing drawings, and Construction/Permit drawings. Working on your own projects, but also assisting other teammates
  • Field measuring
  • Meet with tenants/clients
  • Understand what the deliverable needs to be to meet the client's project needs and what it takes to make projects successful
  • Carefully review work for accuracy before submitting to others for final review
  • Translate mark-ups into working drawings, review for completeness
  • Assist the construction project manager and communicate updates.
  • Receive/login, review, approve, return, and track submittals, including coordination with technical consultants/engineers to ensure that the contract document requirements and the owner-architect contract obligations are met throughout construction.
  • Respond to contractor requests for information (RFI's).
  • Assist in the preparation of changes to be issued in the form of Construction Change Directives (CCD's), Sketches, Addenda, and Bulletins.
  • Conduct on-site evaluations as construction progresses
  • Perform punch list site visits
  • Review and/or assemble project closeout documents including as-builts, product, and equipment maintenance manuals, warranties, and contractor contact information.
  • Prepare for team and client meetings and presentations.
  • Miscellaneous administrative duties as required

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with an architectural firm, preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited college/university
  • Prior client-facing experience, preferred
  • Strong space planning skills
  • Strong knowledge and experience in the following
    • Architectural documentation process and all tasks associated with the preparation of construction documents
    • Quality assurance/quality control processes
    • Ability to coordinate and integrate work effectively with architects, designers, engineers, construction administrators, consultants, and any other members of the project team
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office Suite – specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Detail oriented, creative, self-motivated, and flexible
  • Ability to take direction and collaborate with a team
  • Strong ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand behind your work and sell it
  • Capable of traveling to and from client meetings
  • Valid driver's license
