We currently have an opportunity for a highly talented Architectural Designer to join our successful team. This individual will prepare document drawings from sketches using advanced architectural and design software, develop and revise specific parts of drawings according to building codes, bylaws, and space and site requirements, analyze design problems and propose solutions based on principles of part of design development for entry-level architecture and urban planning, assist with presentations of architecture designs that feature drawings, update floor plans, sections, and elevations and assist with presentation renderings. Requires a minimum bachelor’s degree in architecture with demonstrable experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, 3DS Max, and Revit. Responsibilities:

- Work with architectural software to create building plans
- Assist in studies on airfield layout, apron configuration, passenger terminal planning and/or surface access planning
- Technical report writing, preparing and delivering presentations
- Assisting clients in setting out formal requirements
- Leadership of design meetings, site meetings and all other project related meetings
- Providing support to market team in business development activities including input to tenders
- Actively engaging with L&B/Dar GI Pillar global network of aviation and infrastructure planning professionals
- Providing guidance and leadership to more junior members of the team
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Architecture/ Planning, Urban Planning, or Education related Aviation field
- 1-4 years experience using Revit to create building plans
- Knowledge of the key drivers of Airport Planning and Development, including the interactions between airport operations, landside operations, terminal facilities, and specific knowledge as applicable to the movement of passengers within airports
- Previous experience preparing and managing commercial terminal planning projects/programs at small, medium and large hub airports are preferred, with a range of project stakeholders, contractors and clients
- Be familiar with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Microsoft Office skills are necessary
- The ability to prioritize tasks with good time management skills and strong project management skills
- A high sense of accountability with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be quality oriented and have a desire to deliver high quality work on time and on budget
- Successful track records in business development and in bids/tenders (scope writing and proposal writing)
Knowledge and appreciation of:
- Airspace planning and its interface with airport operations and development
- International codes and standards applicable to aviation
- Environmental impacts of aviation including noise, air quality and carbon assessment
- Surface access and landside issues
- Commercial models of airports
- US Regulatory changes and impacts to US airports
- The importance of a customer’s experience in airports today
Although not essential the following would be an advantage:
- Experience of Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam Revu
- Excellent numerical skills including experience of using complex spreadsheets and databases
- Experience in Airport Modelling and Simulation tools
- Experience in airfield and/or terminal operations
Travel Expectations:
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the year to airport clients and L&B’s offices
