AWTX Assembly Group Leader
Profile
The Assembly Group Leader is responsible for the improvement of safety, quality, productivity, and indirect cost management of the Automatic Transmission Assembly line. The Assembly Group leader will support a culture of quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement with an emphasis on team member development. The Assembly Group Leader reports directly to the Assembly Assistant Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Assembly Group Leader will have direct supervision of the Assembly Team Leader and approximately 25 Team Members. The Assembly Group Leader reports directly to the Assembly Assistant Manager.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
Management of equipment Assembly, preventive maintenance of Assembly
Management of Assembly Team Members
Ensure company goals/targets are met daily regarding safety, quality, availability, manpower, 4S and machine up-time.
Execution of workplace rules and standard work instructions
Assembly Team Member development and identifying training needs
Establish and maintain productive and effective working relationships with AWTX Team Members and Japanese Assembly team members
Leads Kaizen improvement activities that can increase availability and reduce cost
Develop, implement, follow countermeasure plans in support of company and departmental goals and targets.
Mediate, as necessary, to work through problems. Be “hands on” and demonstrate Genchi Genbutsu”(go and see) for significant issues.
Maintain updated schedule for respective manufacturing lines and meets with team members and leaders as necessary to plan and report production process
Provides guidance to Team Leaders regarding policies and procedures and maintains heavy focus on safety, quality, production, and continuous improvement.
Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and deal with frequent interruptions
Qualifications/Requirements
High school Diploma or GED required
College or technical school coursework completed is a plus
3 or more years of experience leading a manufacturing team of 10 or more
Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is a plus
Experience in a cross-cultural working environment is a plus
Ability to work on rotating shifts

Required Working Conditions
Ability to work overtime as needed
Ability to travel on business in US or Japan
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $59,000.00 per year
