Asset Manager Job at Simplot

Summary
This position will be part of the Domestic rail team. Under general supervision and guidance this role will provide support in effectively identifying issues in transit using our tracking systems. Work with all railroad providers to coordinate availability for railcars identified as needing repairs or fuel. Responsible to schedule maintenance providers to assist with repairs on units during transit once the rail carrier has made the car available. This role will also assist with fleet administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with rail providers on access to equipment needing serviced.
- Monitor tracking, tracing, and troubleshooting all issues regarding Simplot fleet assets.
- Update reports with most current information regarding equipment status for use in daily meetings.
- Monitor status reports from multiple inputs and consolidate to useful reports.
- Assist in gathering information for claims process.
- Reporting and auditing demurrage on Simplot owned and leased assets.
- Assist in tracking maintenance of Simplot assets.
- Organize past data for record keeping and audit purposes.
- Assist with Fleet reports.
- Administration and processing registration and permitting as necessary on fleet.
Typical Education
Relevant Experience
- Experience in dealing with transport and warehouse operations
- Ability to use web-based tools to retrieve information for relevant reports and use data in spreadsheet format.
- Experience across MS Office Suite and ERP, such as JDE
Other Information
- Collaboratively works with cross functional team members to resolve opportunities or challenges.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sound experience of product movements over rail and truck
- Proven analytical abilities
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated personal commitment and flexibility to attain daily goals and objectives

- Ability to work unsupervised and make decisions when required
