Overview


Ketchum's Public Sector and Government team is looking for an Assistant Account Executive!

Healthcare is constantly evolving especially in light of Covid and other public health, environmental and social justice issues. Ketchum’s clients require specialized support to respond to health equity gaps with innovative programming and work.

In today’s changing climate of accountability, companies, governments, nonprofits, and community organizations are mobilizing in new exciting and impactful ways. As a result, Ketchum’s growing team is seen as a leader in the Health Equity space, with a growing roster of health, corporate, government and nonprofit clients. Health equity services include strategy, communications and public health activations focused on addressing health disparities.

Our team works to address unmet health needs and reach diverse populations with information and programs focused on healthcare services, screening, treatment or social drivers of health, the non-medical factors that influence health outcomes (e.g., education, economic, social, food access, and housing).

Your contributions can have a lasting impact in the space, you’ll work with some smart people, gain in-demand practical skills, and have some fun contributing to important public health and purpose work!

About the Job

Under the general direction of more senior team members, coordinate and manage the activities necessary to meet client and agency goals. Including but not limited to:


  • Be a team player and work collaboratively with other staff to deliver excellent client service.
  • Develop a full range of written materials including client correspondence, social media content, fact sheets, and monitoring reports.
  • Prepare monthly activity reports and conference/meeting status reports for circulation to team members.
  • Knowledge in using social media and digital platforms to drive awareness and ability to draft posts to generate engagement.
  • Proofread and edit documents; consolidate team edits; maintain records of supporting reference materials.
  • Aptitude to read and understand complex medical material. Ability to rewrite information into easily digestible format.
  • Build strong relationships, deal constructively with internal and external situations and be a role model for outstanding client service.
  • Maintain ownership of billing procedures within the team (according to client) by maintaining billing, invoices and job numbers.

Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience in providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would qualify. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field.
  • Exceptional writing skills.
  • Ability to thrive in multi-faceted, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects with significant attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.

The salary range for this position is $50,000 to $58,000. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, past training, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity and local geographic market data. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
