Salary: $550 per week plus option to live on camp property during resident camp which would include room and board
Dates: June 8 to July 28, 2023
The Assistant Camp Director for Day Camp is responsible in overseeing the implementation, training, and assigning of duties to the entire day camp staff. Assist in carrying out the budget and business operations for the day camp sessions. Ensures that all day camp outdoor programs support the program plan of Girl Scouts of North East Ohio. Under the direction of the Resident Camp Director the Assistant Camp Director for Day Camp will also help in evaluating current season employees while helping make recommendations for the next season.
Requirements:
o Minimum age 21
o Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
o Successful record of experience in administrative or supervisory capacity (preferably in organized camp)
o Successful experience in planning and implementing outdoor living and activity experiences in camps
o Financial management skills and administrative ability
o Youth-oriented program background a plus
o Demonstrated ability to successfully handle conflict resolution at all levels with a variety of people, including external customers
o Ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain confidentiality
o Computer literacy and technical knowledge of computer software programs such as Word, Publisher, Excel, and the Internet
o Ability to communicate the written and spoken word with tact, diplomacy, and/or authority when necessary
o Well disciplined, able to meet deadlines
o Self-starter
o Able to work under pressure of many priorities and deadlines
o Ability to work well as a part of a team
o Knowledge of the Girl Scout program preferred
o Ability to meet schedule requirements, including flexible work week early morning, night, and weekend hours
o Will require travel throughout the Girl Scouts of North East Ohio jurisdiction
o Valid driver’s license; and access to insured vehicle in working condition
