You will be responsible for contributing to the ongoing operation of the Norton & Elaine Sarnoff Center for Jewish Genetics by developing and overseeing Jewish Genetic-related programming, conducting outreach throughout the community, developing relationships with partners, and working closely with the Executive Director on strategic planning, operations planning, and managing grants.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and oversee programming, which includes program design and evaluation, original content development, and education delivery.
  • Manage planning and day-to-day operations of community outreach and communications efforts, including event planning, with all the Center’s target audiences.
  • Oversee external communications efforts and evaluate those efforts (e.g., web analytics, etc.)
  • Build and maintain relationships with external and internal partners; cultivate new lay leadership by liaising with the Center’s Associate Board.
  • Contribute to ongoing planning and execution of Center operations including grants management, budget management, and program planning and execution.
  • Utilizing independent judgment, supervise, direct, and assign employment duties of summer interns and a full-time associate responsible for day-to-day operations of the Center’s screening program and for assisting with other staff portfolios.
  • Support JUF Campaign and mandatory campaign-related activities on an ongoing basis.

What you need to succeed:

  • A combination of relevant work and education in one or more related fields, such as health communications, health services, public health, and Jewish communal service. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with surveys, graphic design, and social media useful but not required.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends to support special events and other initiatives.

  • 8 hour shift
