About the Role

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is responsible for supporting the General Manager (GM) in the management of the entire restaurant’s operations. The AGM is responsible to meet performance and profit goals. These objectives include assisting in the selection, development, and training of all Salata Team Members in the restaurant. The AGM is responsible to manage and oversee all safety processes within the restaurant. The AGM ensures and exceptional customer experience that supports our vision to become the next generation salad bar where guests can create their fresh and healthy salad or salad wrap.

Assistant General Manager Core Responsibilities

Typical activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the restaurant in the absence of the GM.
  • Complete all daily management policies and procedures are upheld by the team at all times.
  • Complete all daily management and shift operations procedures.
  • Assist in conducting team and daily pre-shift meetings.
  • Ensure the planning and execution of established safety, security, quality, and store operations policies, procedures and practices.
  • Identify and delegate responsibilities to the team to drive goals and service excellence.
  • Proactively solicit customer feedback and address concerns in a professional, timely manner.
  • Demonstrates respect for individual employees and shows appreciation for their efforts and contributions.
  • Consistently evaluate operational effectiveness to identify any issues and opportunities.
  • Respond to customer complaints or inquiries. Respond to customer complaints or inquiries. Solicit customer feedback, input and information through various communication vehicles. React to information and create a plan to consistently meet the expectations of all customers.
  • Plan and prepare work schedules and coordinate daily assignments and activities of associates to meet the needs of the business.
  • Other duties as assigned by the General Manager or District Manager.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High School Degree (preferred, but not required)
  • All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Leadership experience in a fast-paced food service environment, preferred but not required
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Availability to work all shifts based on business needs, such as Weekends and Holidays
  • Ability to learn and utilize the restaurant’s applications
  • Proven and consistently demonstrated skills in the following:
  • Exceptional Customer Service
  • Relationship Building
  • Effective Communication
  • Passing a pre-employment background screening and drug test will be required

Physical Demands

  • Function in a fast-paced restaurant environment
  • Lift and carry, push or pull heavy objects up to 50 pounds
  • Kneel, bend, twist, or stoop
  • Ascend or descend stairs
  • Reach and grasp objects (including above head and below waistline)
  • Stand or sit for an extended periods of time
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is an exempt field position with regular travel within the Greater Houston area. Days and hours of work vary depending on restaurant location. This position regularly requires working extended hours, holidays, and weekends.

Work Environment

This job operates in a restaurant environment setting. Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor restaurant environment/production setting with adequate ventilation. Occasionally be exposed to variable temperatures depending on the season. Daily environmental exposures to heat, cold, and water.

Travel: 50%

Travel is primarily local during the business day to the corporate owned restaurants in the Greater Houston area, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
