The Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting in the management of the daily operations of the restaurant, including the development and performance management of employees. In addition, the Assistant Manager oversees the inventory and ordering of food and supplies and optimizes profits while ensuring that guests are satisfied with their dining experience. As the front line of the restaurant, they are pleasant, polite, and maintain a neat appearance. The Assistant Manager reports to the General Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Assistant Manager include but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee and manage all areas of the restaurant and make final decisions on matters of importance to guest service.
  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility, and labor costs.
  • Ensure all financial-related (invoices, receipts, expenses) and assigned administrative duties are completed accurately, on time, and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas.
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.
  • Ensure consistent quality of food and beverages before being served to guests.
  • Maintain a professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.
  • Estimate food and beverage costs.
  • Complete weekly inventory according to budgets set by the company.
  • Ensure efficient provisioning and purchasing of supplies.
  • Supervise portion control and quantities of preparation to minimize waste.
  • Calculate inventory needs, place orders with distributors, and schedule the delivery of food and supplies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure adherence to all food safety guidelines.
  • Ensure positive guest service in all areas.
  • Respond to complaints, taking all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
  • Ensure that proper security procedures are in place to protect employees, guests, and company assets.
  • Lead pre-shift meetings and ensure goals have been related to the staff and are understood.
  • Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents.
  • Complete accident reports promptly in the event a guest or employee is injured.
  • Overall management of each shift, including operational decision-making, while upholding standards, product quality, and cleanliness.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food and beverage quality and service.
  • Provide direction to employees regarding operational and procedural issues.
  • Supervision and development of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Other duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years’ restaurant experience
  • Minimum two years’ managerial experience
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Self-disciplined and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities including those in adherence to local, state, and federal regulations and requirements of daily restaurant operations.
  • Ability to motivate employees to work as a team to ensure that food and service meet appropriate standards.
  • Ability to recommend appropriate solutions to restaurant problems as they arise.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work 40 to 45 hours per week.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Possess or obtain current Food Handler Certification.
  • Possess or obtain TABC Certification.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $16.00 - $17.00/hour.
