Masters RMC is a growing family-run business seeking a full-time, highly energetic individual to work as an Assistant Plant Mechanic at our concrete and sand & gravel plants, as well as certain types of repairs to trucks and other rolling equipment. The applicant will work with Masters’ Plant Mechanical Supervisor performing a variety of skilled tasks in maintenance, repair and service of concrete plant equipment, machinery and related facilities, while keeping a clean and safe work environment. The applicant must work well independently and with teams, while providing excellent, respectful customer service which support Masters’ mission and values.

Masters services Northeast PA and the Southern Tier of NY and is in its 89th year of business.

Skills

• Stick welding and fabricating experience.
• Comfortable working at heights, using the proper safety equipment.
• Knowledge of conveyors, bearings and drive systems.
• Electrical knowledge a plus.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Work an average of 45-50 hours per week.
• Applicant must be a minimum 18 years of age.

Duties

• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements (both planned and unplanned) on production equipment.
• Readily available for emergency repairs.
• Read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, service manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Perform preventative maintenance.
• Complete work orders in a timely manner maintaining high quality standards.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Follow all required work safe practices. This would include lockout-tagout requirements, wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, fall restraints, etc.
• Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
