The Department of Computer Science welcomes applications for an Assistant Professor of Practice position to begin Fall of 2023.
This is a one-year faculty position for the 2023-2024 academic year, with the possibility of renewal. The Department offers three undergraduate majors, a traditional Computer Science program, Bioinformatics and a Data Science program, as well as a professional Masters in Computer and Information Science and Ph.D. in Computer Science. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and the promotion of diversity in the computing field. The successful candidate will teach the equivalent of twelve credits per semester.
Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and the promotion of diversity in the computing field. The successful candidate will teach the equivalent of twelve credits per semester.
Prepare syllabus and teaching plan, conduct class sessions, prepare and administer quizzes and exams, and grade students’ work, record midterm and final course grades. Must maintain a minimum of three office hours per week.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Masters Degree preferred or substantial progress toward the terminal degree.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Doctoral Degree in Computer Science or a related field and teaching experience at a college level.
