We are seeking an Assistant Scheduling Manager to join our Central Planning Team. This role's primary task is to create, edit, and deliver schedules accurately and on time. You will be responsible for making staffing decisions while in constant communication with departmental managers as required to support optimal park service and cost objectives, in addition to other key metrics. This role reports to the Head of Central Planning & Scheduling (HCP) in all projects and initiatives, and ensures the department is represented in the HCP’s absence.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the configuration and maintenance of Scheduling Software including staff coding, line schedule input, and adjustments due to business need.
  • In continuous communication with all park management teams regarding departmental needs, schedules, staffing adjustments, and company initiatives as dictated by the department and key metrics. This includes assisting in staffing adjustments due to call outs or changes in predicted attendance.
  • Actively partners with HRBP in hiring and scheduling related staffing reviews, as well as employee numbers tracking and reporting.
  • Actively monitors queues and guest flow throughout the park, collecting, managing, and assessing data for immediate use as well as ongoing attendance forecasting.
  • Ensures the HCP is kept informed of all requests, issues, and changes as they occur.
  • Manage Scheduling Software and ensure line schedules, budgets, and attendance projections are accurate.
  • Builds and maintains daily scheduling matrices (line schedules) according to guest flow and revenue analysis to ensure most efficient use of labour; to optimize KPIs and revenue.
  • Tracking and organizing training documentation for all park staff to ensure the most up-to-date information is used when scheduling.
  • Collaborate with park management and other department coordinators to ensure any issues, special staffing, or recruiting needs are met on a day to day basis.
  • Assists with any collection and analysis of park operating data from multiple software suites and combine them to contribute to overall park operating models.
  • Takes initiative in researching other facts, processes, and data outside of the tools provided internally to compare best practices around the industry.
  • Participates in Operations Base Duty Management shifts; monitors all guest flow throughout the park. Collaborates with Park
  • Duty Management team to address staffing needs on continual basis.
  • Reacts in real time to any staffing issues and coordinates movement of multi-skilled staff according to business needs.
  • Assists in generating staff needs analysis for all park departments as dictated by staffing models and forecast. Will work with departmental managers in the recruiting plan development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

About You



  • At least two years scheduling at least 50 people and/or project management experience is required, preferably in a service environment. Similar experience scheduling staff in a Hospitality or other 24 hour service environment is preferred.
  • A Hospitality degree, Bachelor’s in Business, or equivalent theme park experience is preferred.
  • Must show a high aptitude in the use of all Microsoft Office modules with proven experience in developing spreadsheets for scheduling and/or tracking data.
  • Strong written and verbal communicator with proven technical writing skills.
  • Experience in data analysis and presentation is preferred.
  • Open availability to be able to support theme park operational hours.


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit for sustained periods of time to attend on-site and off-site meetings, perform paperwork activities, travel, and drive.
  • Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the park site and interact with employees.
  • Finger dexterity sufficient to complete paperwork activities and to use a computer.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read written materials, to complete paperwork activities, and to drive.
  • Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone.
  • Work Environment: Various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends to support park operations.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, safe driving record and be willing to utilize own vehicle for business purposes.
  • Must have or be able to get a valid passport and relevant travel visas. May require travel domestically and internationally.
