The Centurion New York Assistant Team Leader supports the Centurion New York Team Leader in mentoring and developing a team of highly skilled and motivated Member Concierge Professionals (MCPs). The MCP Team provides white glove services related to Centurion Platinum Card Members onsite. They the team assists with arrivals. check-ins, dining reservations, private event requests, and select concierge/lifestyle services. These services cater to our American Express Centurion Card Members visiting the Centurion Lounge in New York, located on the 55th floor of One Vanderbilt Avenue.
A successful Associate Team Leader will have the passion for delivering extraordinary service and will have a strong desire to further develop their leadership ability through mentorship, while inspiring the MCP Team to work together to drive outstanding business operations. The Assistant Team Leader will work with the Hospitality General Manager to supervise customer interactions to ensure outstanding service, while also mentoring the overall team on individual performance goals, metrics, and reporting. The ATL will provide consistent and ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure the team is performing at their highest level.
The Assistant Team Leader is a consummate hospitality professional. An advocate and supporter for both the Centurion team and the cardmembers and their guests. They thrive in ambiguity and can effectively, under the direction of the Hospitality General Manager, lead the team through change. They are intellectually curious and share a drive for growth and knowledge amongst their colleagues.
The ATL with the direction of the Team Leader, will support:
- Crafting a cohesive team environment
- Mentoring their direct reports and the team members to provide a high-touch, premium experience for our patrons and their guests.
- Inspiring their staff to achieve their goals by providing continuous mentoring, training and development, as well as, rewarding and recognizing accomplishments
- Communicating and keeping the staff well informed about changes that may affect them and Card Members
- Managing to schedules ensure adequate servicing coverage is always provided, which may include filling in when needed
- Working with the Manager to support the evaluation of team performance and when vital, assist in the creation of development and action plans for individual colleagues
- Working closely with the food & beverage operator to create an out award winning customer experience for all Centurion New York visitors.
- Taking an active role with promotional in-house events
- Seeing opportunities to enhance operations and implementing creative solutions to grow the business with the Hospitality General Manager
- Challenging themself and the team to “set a higher standard” by driving continuous improvement
Centurion New York Lounge is open from 845am – 12am, 7 days a week. This is a 40 hour a week position from Tuesday – Saturday/ Hour may change due to business needs.
Qualifications:
A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Must have 2 years’ proactive customer service experience (premium servicing a plus)in the Travel or Hospitality Industry.
- Must have 2 years’ supervisory experience or consistent track record as a successful MSP, MCP or CCP
- Food & beverage, airline, or lounge industry experience highly preferred, including reservation experience
- Demonstrated passion for service with the ability to resolve customer issues and concerns
- Ability to successfully understand and implement policies, procedures, and programs
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
- Ability to master conflict resolution
- Ability to drive and gauge business results
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Meticulous with strong organizational and prioritization skills who can work well under stress.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends and holidays are critical.
- Light to moderate lifting may be required for certain job tasks.

Salary Range: $55,400.00 to $81,400.00 annually + bonus + benefits
