JOB TITLE: Assistant to Manager of Golf Course
DEPARTMENT: Clover Hill Golf Course
JOB STATUS: Full-time; FLSA non-exempt
PAY RANGE: $35,000 - $45,000 DOQ
REPORTS TO: Manager of Golf Course and Sports Fields

JOB SUMMARY

The Borough of Franklin Park owns and operates Clover Hill Golf Course, a scenic, well- maintained nine-hole course located on Reis Run Road. The Assistant to the Manager of Golf Course will be one of two full-time positions at the course, and the person in this position will be responsible for maintenance of grounds and equipment year-round and management of staff and general golf course operations when directed by the Manager of Golf Course.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

• Supervising and executing the golf course maintenance, including mowing of all grounds, chemical and fertilizer applications, maintenance of sand traps, landscaping, and buildings, and irrigation system operation, repair and installation.
• Preventative maintenance of all golf course equipment.
• Staff oversight, management and training as directed by Manager of Golf Course.
• General golf course management as directed by Manager of Golf Course.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a team lead roll.
• Ability to maintain and repair small-engine machinery and equipment.
• Valid, insurable PA Driver’s License.
• Must acquire a PA Department of Agriculture Public Pesticide Applicator’s License, including Category Core and 7 (Safety and Lawn Turf) within one (1) year of hire, and must maintain throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in turfgrass management, landscape construction or related field, including experience with calculating pesticides for application and calibration.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

• Complete manual labor for long periods of time, walking on uneven surfaces, bending, crouching or kneeling, pushing/pulling of levers on equipment and machinery.
• Work in and around potentially hazardous materials, including pesticides, herbicides and motor fuel.
• Outdoor working environment subject to pre-dawn hours and inclement weather.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
